Security and sign-in
How people sign in to Pad, and how to manage where you are signed in.
Sign-in
Pad's sign-in is hosted: you sign in on a Pad-branded page run by our identity provider, and Pad never stores a password. Sign in with your Google account or with your email address and a code. Single sign-on and multi-factor authentication are available to organizations that need them; with single sign-on, people sign in with their work account and no email is involved.
If a sign-in email does not arrive
Verification codes, invitations, and password resets come from no-reply@notifications.pad.ai. If one does not arrive, check your spam or quarantine folder first. On Microsoft 365, a message can sit in quarantine until your IT team releases it or allows the sender, so ask them to allow notifications.pad.ai. Signing in with Google sends no email, and organizations on single sign-on never wait on one.
Your sessions
Settings and then Security lists every device where you are signed in. Sign out of any one of them, or out of every device at once.
Access control
Access in Pad follows memberships and grants, never per-file permissions: pad membership for content, connection grants for tools, invitations and links for chats. See Core concepts.
