Memory
What Pad learns from your chats, where it goes, and how to take anything back.
Memory is the set of facts Pad learns as you work: preferences, decisions, context about your team. It fills in on its own after a chat settles; nothing waits on you.
Three pools
- Mine follows you: what Pad learns about you and your preferences.
- Pads hold what a team draws on: facts learned in chats that use the pad.
- Organization holds what applies to everyone.
The Memory surface in the sidebar shows each pool, with a tab per kind.
Seeing what was learned
Under a settled turn, a Learned chip lists the facts the chat produced. Each one can be kept, retracted, or moved to your own memory.
The disclosure window
When a chat's participants are fewer than a pad's members, a fact learned for that pad stays visible only to the chat for a short window before it discloses to the whole pad. Anyone in the chat can retract it during the window. Organization admins set the window's length in Settings.
Curating memory
Facts are versioned and never deleted for good. Edit, forget, and restore them from the Memory surface. Pad admins choose in the pad's settings whether chats may write into its pool.
